Job Description: The Custodial Supervisor is responsible for the successful completion of
professional janitorial cleaning and trash collection services for assigned areas in a manner
consistent with US Department of State standards. This position will be responsible for providing
supervision of subordinates, preparing reports, and participating in inventories. The duties and
responsibilities listed below are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not
necessarily all inclusive.
Utilizes audits and check-sheets to ensure work is completed in a satisfactory manner. This
Supervisor assigns personnel to tasks to provide responsive, efficient, and cost-effective janitorial
cleaning and waste removal for all assigned interior and exterior areas including roads, sidewalks,
and paths. The Supervisor assists in scheduling staff according to standards and forecasted clientrequests. Inspects and supervises public areas throughout the compound and assures that the employees have the supplies necessary to perform their duties and assists in the inventory process. Attends and assists in all department meetings. Provides documents and communicates maintenance requests to the Work Order Service Desk. Responds quickly to client’s requests in a professional manner and follows up to ensure client satisfaction. The Custodial Supervisor will be required to work in fast paced, stressful environment and display a professional image through appearance, dress, and conduct. Follows company philosophies, policies and procedures and can effectively communicate them to subordinates. Assists/conducts training classes regarding safety, security, department procedures and service guidelines; and assists in the performance review process on a quarterly and yearly basis. The Custodial Supervisor shall perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Acceptable Experience Level: The candidate must have a minimum of 2 years successful experience in a supervisory custodial position for an office and/or residential facility with at least 5- 10 janitorial staff. Must be able to read, write and speak English.
