Job Description: This position will be responsible for tracking and reporting Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) compliance. Functional independence ensures immediate resolution if discrepancies in specifications, craftsmanship, job-site safety, or health problems cannot be resolved satisfactorily at the project level. The duties and responsibilities listed below represent the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all-inclusive.
• Generate professional reports to communicate EHS performance daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual frequency and collaborate with branch department management to establish safety goals.
• Assist hazmat duties on Hazardous Materials Management Plan (HMMP), Hazardous Waste Management Plan (HWMP), and Environmental Permit Management Procedure and Spill Prevention and Countermeasures Plan and provide training as needed.
• Assist in Safety Committee Meetings and Implement the Company Safety Plan.
• Review facility practices and policies to determine compliance with Environment, Health, and Safety EHS regulations to support programs to include collecting and analyzing performance
data to determine leading and lagging trends and report performance metrics to leaders to ensure proper priority and focus on EHS issues.
• Maintaining records, receiving, preparing, or verifying documents; searching for and compiling information and data; responding to routine requests for information; verifying statistical reports for accuracy and completeness; maintaining formats approved by the EHS Program Manager and preparing draft daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports to include confidential recordkeeping of HIPAA records.
• Review and approve project submittals pertaining to EHS requirements for higher echelon approval and follow up by using key relationships to ensure collaborative execution of EHS projects from conception to implementation and follow-up.
• Conduct Fault Tree Analysis, Failure Modes, Effects Analysis, and other EHS-related Risk Management Techniques to ensure loss and cost control.
• Provide guidance on inspections/audits for Company branch department and trades personnel and conduct inspection/audit verifications as needed.
• Track EHS corrective action(s) “cradle to grave” to include tracking Lessons Learned slides.
• Facilitate post-EHS New Hire Training in support of educating the public on Environmental, Safety, and Health initiatives and coordinate training activities to ensure the development of facility leaders/management.
• Develop programs to promote high-quality services and ensure work is performed in accordance with federal, company, and (FAM) POSHO standards.
• Serve as a key leader and advocate for comprehensive and integrated attention to employee health and wellness efforts.

  • Minimum Acceptable Experience Level:
    o An intermediate or greater understanding and application of 29 CFR 1910, NFPA Code, and ANSI standards, and a basic understanding of international EHS laws and regulations
    o Environmental Laws including RCRA (Resource Conservation Recovery Act), 40 CFR 50-97 (Clean Air Act), 40 CFR 100-140 (Clean Water Act), 40 CFR 141-149 (Safe Drinking Water Act), and 40 CFR 195 (Toxic Substance Control Act)
    o Industrial Hygiene principles, including Noise Management and Exposure assessments with toxicology experience.
    o Three (3) years with full-time EHS-related experience from home country.
    o Five (5) years with 85% position EHS-related duties and/or (1700 hours annually) EHS experience from project/contract.
    o One (1) year tenure on a Department of State or Department of Defense project of similar size and scope with non-EHS-related duties.
