Job Description: This position will be responsible for assisting the Vehicle Maintenance section with receiving, storing, and maintaining tools, supplies, and equipment. This position will also provide vehicle escort services on and off site. The duties and responsibilities listed below are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all inclusive.
- Receive requests for parts and materials from Mechanics and prepare and process requisitions for same.
- Receive, store, and issue hand tools, replacement parts, shop supplies, equipment, and packaged POL products.
- Keep records of specialty tools issued to and returned by workers.
- Search for lost or misplaced tools.
- Prepare periodic inventory or keep perpetual inventories and requisitions replacements, as needed.
- Unpack and store new equipment.
- Visually inspect tools or measure with micrometer for wear or defects and report damaged or worn-out equipment to superiors.
- Coat tools with grease or other preservatives using a brush or spray gun.
- Attach identification tags or engrave identifying information on tools and equipment using electric marking tool.
- Provide vehicle escort services.
- Minimum Acceptable Experience Level: Two (2) years’ supply experience in a vehicle warehouse.
