Job Description: This position will be responsible for assisting the Generator Mechanics in their daily duties. The duties and responsibilities listed below are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not necessarily all inclusive.
• Coordinate and perform duties to operate the prime power generators made by Caterpillar, Cummins, Honda, Kubota, Perkins, Wilson, and other manufacturers with capacities typically ranging between 20kW to 1600kW or larger.
• Assist the generator mechanics in their daily duties.
• Responsible for managing and overseeing the preventive maintenance, condition monitoring, repair, installation, and modernization of all power generation equipment on site.
• Report any malfunctions or lack of compliance with Statement of Work (SOW) to the Power Generation Supervisor.
• Maintain effective, timely and respectful communication and interaction with other employees, supervisors, managers, and supports other organizations.
• Perform other administrative tasks including material ordering, inventory, work scheduling, when assigned by the supervisor.
• Must be able to take initiative to analyze a situation and to make frequent technical decisions based on specifications, safety, and electrical codes.
• Minimum Acceptable Experience Level: Five (5) years’ experience in operations and maintenance of various types of generators with capacities typically between 20kW to 1600kW or larger.
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
o Knowledge and experience with tools and electrical measuring meters of the trade.
o Knowledge and experience regarding occupational hazards of the electrical and mechanical trades, related safety precautions and considerable skill required for the installation, maintenance and repair of power generation systems and equipment.
