Job Description: This position reports to the Vehicle Maintenance Manager. The duties and
responsibilities listed below are representative of the nature and level of work assigned and are not
necessarily all inclusive.
- Supervise and schedules the daily work assignments of subordinate vehicle maintenance
mechanics. - Become proficient in the use and completion of work orders (WO) produced by Fleetmate
database. - Develop a comprehensive knowledge of site vehicle maintenance requirements for a fleet of
vehicles (passenger vehicles, large and small trucks, materials-handling and heavy equipment
vehicles, recovery vehicles and special-purpose vehicles). - Responsibilities include:
o Scheduled safety inspections.
o Scheduled weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual preventive maintenance.
o Vehicle oil changes, belt changes, tune-ups, tire rotation, steering system checks,
front-end alignments, brake systems, batteries, electrical, air conditioning, including
maintenance/repairs of all vehicle systems including tire change and wheel
balancing, etc.
o Drive a tow truck.
o Hazardous materials (HazMat) storage, handling, and disposal.
o Service Desk and work orders.
o Logistics (including maintaining inventory of spare parts, equipment, and
consumables), purchase request and warehousing procedures.
o Vehicle operations.
o Participate in equipment inventories. - Perform additional duties as assigned by the Vehicle Maintenance Manager.
- Minimum Acceptable Experience Level:
o Eight (8) years’ vehicle maintenance and supervisory experience.
o Experience in the maintenance of large fleets to include procurement of spare parts.
